What to expect

This special carpet weaving experience in Baku is designed for those who want to get to know and experience carpet weaving, one of Azerbaijan's oldest arts, up close. It's not just a workshop; it's a cultural journey where tradition, labor, and art intertwine.
The experience begins in a traditional carpet workshop. Master weavers welcome you and first explain the history of Azerbaijani carpets, the meaning of the patterns, and the techniques used. You will discover that every motif has a story, every stitch a meaning.
Then it's your turn. Under the guidance of master weavers, you'll begin weaving your own mini rug. You'll learn how to cast on knots, choose colors, and watch your rug gradually take shape. This process is both educational and incredibly enjoyable.
During the experience, traditional Azerbaijani tea is served. While enjoying tea, you can chat with the masters and learn how this art is passed down from generation to generation.
You will receive a miniature rug you wove yourself as a souvenir.
You will be given a certificate of participation prepared specifically for you.
This experience adds a meaningful and lasting memory to your trip to Baku.
