Pashupatinath is a sacred Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, located on the banks of the Bagmati River in Kathmandu. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979, it is an extensive temple complex featuring shrines, ashrams, and centuries-old inscriptions, and forms a key part of the Kathmandu Valley heritage zone.
Swayambhunath is an ancient Buddhist stupa believed to be over 2,000 years old, perched on a hill about 2 km west of Kathmandu. Overlooking the entire valley, it is one of Nepal’s oldest religious sites and is popularly known as the “Monkey Temple” due to the many monkeys living in the area.
Located about 5 km southeast of Kathmandu in the city of Lalitpur, Patan Durbar Square is renowned for its exquisite Newari architecture. Once a royal palace complex of the Malla kings, it features ornate courtyards, pagoda temples, and over 1,200 monuments showcasing exceptional wood, stone, and metal craftsmanship.
Kathmandu Durbar Square is a historic palace complex in the heart of old Kathmandu and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once the seat of Nepal’s Malla and Shah kings, it showcases exquisite Newar architecture with intricately carved wooden temples, courtyards, and statues. The square reflects centuries of royal history, religion, and culture, making it a living museum of Nepal’s artistic and spiritual heritage.
Drive to Chitwan (about 160 km, 6 hrs. drive). Transfer to Hotel for check –in. Upon arrival, lunch will be served at hotel restaurant. Evening, sunset and visit local Tharu village . Overnight in Chitwan.
Wakeup call with tea or coffee followed by Nature walk and Bird watching tour. Breakfast and start jungle safari to see different kinds of deer, rhinoceros, wild boar, leopard, monkeys, birds and many other smaller animals. After jungle safari tour proceed for Dugout Canoe Ride along with Dungre or Rapti River to see 2 types of rare species of crocodile; the marsh mugger and the fish-eating Gharial. Visit elephant breeding farm. Evening, sunset and enjoy Tharu Stick (Cultural) Dance. Overnight in Chitwan.
After breakfast drive back to Kathmandu. In the way, you’ll observing the scenic views on the national highway along the Trishuli River. Enroute, visit Manakamana Temple by Cable Car (optional). Upon arrival, check into the hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu.
