Meet your guide and begin a walking tour through Durrës, a city where layers of history meet everyday life. As you explore the center, discover how this coastal hub evolved from an important Roman port into a lively seaside destination.
Along the way, pass key landmarks such as the Venetian Tower, once part of the city’s defenses, and traces of the ancient walls from when Durrës was a fortified city. Walk along the main boulevard and see the Great Mosque of Durrës, while your guide shares stories and details that reveal the city’s past and present.
A highlight of the tour is the Roman Amphitheater of Durrës (entrance included). Built in the 2nd century AD, it is the largest in the Balkans. Explore its underground areas and admire early Christian mosaics.
The tour ends at the Balcony of Durrës, a hidden viewpoint offering beautiful views over the city and coastline. From here, you can stay and enjoy the scenery or head back down to the seaside for a walk or a drink.
