Your journey begins at Tokyo's newest landmark, Azabudai Hills, where you will step into the futuristic world of teamLab Borderless. Enjoy a guaranteed 2 hours to fully immerse yourself in this mind-bending, "mapless" digital universe. Wander through the mesmerizing "Light Sculpture" series and the breathtaking "Infinite Crystal World." Here, art moves freely across rooms, communicating with other works and visitors, allowing you to become an active part of the artwork itself.
After stimulating your senses with modern technology, we take a short subway ride (or taxi) to transition from the high-tech future to the center of Japan's history. We arrive at the Imperial Palace, the primary residence of the Emperor and the former site of Edo Castle. Our first stop here is the iconic Nijubashi Bridge. With the elegant palace watchtower in the background, this spot offers one of the most classic and beautiful photo opportunities in all of Tokyo.
Next, we step inside the East Gardens (Higashi-Gyoen), the former grounds of the greatest fortress of the Samurai Shoguns. Walk alongside the massive, original stone walls, climb the ancient ruins of the main keep (Tenshudai), and stroll through the beautifully manicured Ninomaru traditional Japanese garden. Your guide will bring the dramatic history of the Samurai era to life, providing a striking contrast to the digital world you experienced earlier. (Note: The East Gardens are closed on Mondays and Fridays. On these days, we will thoroughly explore the Outer Gardens, Nijubashi Bridge, and the historic Sakuradamon Gate area instead).
