Keep an eye out for seasonal wildlife like dolphins and pelicans. Enjoy a mellow pace and plenty of opportunities for photos, unforgettable coastal views, and wildlife sightings.

Meet near the bathroom and pull-up bars at the top of the stairs on the far side of the parking lot facing the beach to the right.

Itinerary

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours (approximately)

    Walk down the most beautiful staircase in Southern California to then encounter Strands Beach. We will walk along the beach and explore the shore. We will see what washes up and even explore the tidepools (assuming the tide is low enough). We will then walk to the end of the beach and begin the hike up to the Dana Point Headlands

    Walk the headland trails and learn about the history and ecology of the area. Experience the desert chaparral landscape, beautiful sweeping views with every step photo perfect, and learn about the life and culture of Dana Point spanning hundreds of years.
