Fish the Kenai River with a guide service that focuses on quality over quantity. At Kenai River Recon LLC, trips are intentionally kept small—just 2–3 anglers for fly fishing or up to 4 for spin fishing—so you have room to fish comfortably and get personalized guidance throughout the day.
This trip is designed for everyone. Whether it’s your first time holding a rod or you’re chasing a trophy rainbow trout, your guide will tailor the day to your skill level and style—fly or spin. You’re not just along for the ride—you’re actively fishing, learning, and improving with proven techniques used on the Kenai.
You’ll cover productive water from a well-equipped boat, giving you access to stretches of river many anglers never reach on their own. Combined with local knowledge, timing, and boat positioning, this gives you a real advantage and a better shot at quality fish.

What's Included
Meeting and pickup
Centennial campground and boat launch is the location for most trips. Secondary boat ramp is Bings Landing campground and boat launch. All trips meet at Bings Landing from September through October. Your guide will contact you directly after the booking process to confirm our meeting location.
What to expect
Throughout the trip, travelers will actively fish using either fly fishing or spinning gear, depending on their preference. The guide will provide instruction, adjust techniques to match skill level, and position the boat in productive areas to maximize opportunities.
As the day unfolds, travelers will move through different sections of the river, casting to likely holding water and learning proven methods such as indicator fishing, swinging flies, or light tackle presentations. The guide will assist with casting, hook sets, and safely landing and releasing fish.
This experience is hands-on and interactive—guests are fishing, learning, and exploring the Kenai River while enjoying scenic views and the chance to catch quality rainbow trout. Lets go have fun and play in the water!
