Stroll with me through the Eixample — Barcelona’s neighborhood designed so life happens just outside your door. In a few blocks you’ll see churches, schools, bakeries, markets, elegant shops, and the cafés locals actually use. I’ll explain how the city was planned not just to grow, but to live well.
We’ll also stop at spectacular Modernist houses (yes — Gaudí and others) and the grand palaces of the 19th-century elite. Behind the façades are stories of industrial fortunes, colonial trade, and how money from Cuba — in some cases connected to the illegal slave trade — helped shape modern Barcelona.
