A Mapesu game drive is unique because it takes place in the remote Mapesu Private Game Reserve. Unlike crowded game reserves, it offers an intimate, off-the-grid safari experience with fewer vehicles, allowing closer and more personal wildlife encounters. Visitors have the chance to see the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo—as well as rarer predators like wild dogs and cheetah. The landscape blends rugged sandstone formations, ancient baobab trees, and diverse ecosystems, creating a dramatic backdrop. Drives are guided by knowledgeable field guides who share insights into wildlife and the rich archaeological history linked to the area, making the experience both educational and immersive.
