Today after the pickup from your accommodation in Marrakech we will head to the southeast of Morocco, crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, the spectacular road that connects Marrakech with the southern side of the mountains. Along the way you’ll enjoy beautiful landscapes and traditional Berber villages. We will then arrive at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, where you will meet a local guide for a visit of this historic village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The kasbah is also well known as a filming location for many famous productions such as Game of Thrones, Gladiator, and The Mummy. After the visit, you can have lunch in Ait Ben Haddou or continue to Ouarzazate, just about 30 minutes away. In the afternoon, we drive through the beautiful landscapes of the south toward the Rose Valley, where you will spend the night.
Today the experience will be different as we head toward the beautiful Todra Gorge, passing through the scenic Todra Valley, one of the best destinations for climbers and mountain lovers. Enjoy some free time walking along the river, relaxing, and taking pictures between the impressive canyon walls. After the visit, we continue to Tinjdad where you will have lunch. Later, we stop at a local family shop where you can learn about traditional Berber scarves and even try on some Berber outfits. In the afternoon, we drive toward the desert to reach Merzouga Desert, where you will meet your camel caravan and enjoy a camel ride across the golden dunes to the sunset before you get into your desert camp.
Today after an unforgettable sunrise and breakfast at the camp, you will explore the Sahara around Merzouga. we start a desert discovery tour by a 4x4 car. First, we visit a nomadic family to learn about their traditional lifestyle and enjoy a cup of Berber tea. Then we continue to Khamlia, a small village known for its Gnawa music, where you will enjoy a live performance and learn about its African cultural roots. Later, you can explore the surrounding desert landscapes, visit local communities, and experience the peaceful atmosphere of the Sahara before returning to your camp or hotel in Merzouga.
On the final day, we we will leave the desert of Merzouga after breakfast and begin our journey back to Marrakech after breakfast in your accommodation in the desert. Along the way, we pass through Ouarzazate, often called the gateway to the Sahara, where you may have a short stop for lunch or photos. The journey continues through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains and across the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, offering beautiful panoramic views and photo opportunities. By late afternoon or evening, we arrive back in Marrakech, marking the end of your unforgettable Sahara desert adventure.
