Please meet in front of the large angel wings mural at Kakao Market by Mariebelle in Gion, Kyoto. A guide wearing a camera around his neck will be waiting at the meeting point, holding a “Kyoto Gion Photo Tour” board for easy identification.
Walk through the beautiful Shirakawa area in Gion, where you can see traditional Edo-period machiya townhouses. This scenic canal street offers one of Kyoto’s most photogenic spots, perfect for capturing authentic Japanese charm.
Visit Yasaka Shrine, a historic Shinto shrine with over 1,000 years of history in the heart of Gion. Its iconic vermilion gate and traditional architecture create a stunning backdrop, making it one of the most photogenic spots in Kyoto.
Walk through Maruyama Park, a historic and beloved public park next to Yasaka Shrine. Famous for its stunning cherry blossoms in spring, it offers a peaceful setting and breathtaking photo spots throughout the seasons.
Pass by Chourakukan, a historic Western-style mansion built in 1909 by a wealthy tobacco entrepreneur. This elegant building reflects Kyoto’s modern history, and we will briefly view it from the outside as we walk to the next location.
Stroll along Nene-no-Michi, a peaceful historic street named after Nene, the wife of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. With its traditional architecture and scenic atmosphere, it is a wonderful spot for capturing authentic Kyoto photos.
