Hi! I am Ryan, I’m an avid hiker &marathon runner with experience on trails across Australia, Europe, and Asia. Here in Gyeongju, come with me to discover the enchanting Yongjang Valley on a guided hike through UNESCO-listed Namsan Mountain.
This 3-4 hour journey is one of my favourite tracks in Gyeongju, which immerses you in the rich history of the Silla people, as you explore scenic forest paths adorned with ancient Buddhist relics.
Marvel at the rock-carved Buddha and three-story pagoda at Yongjangsa Temple, where you can pause for meditation amidst breathtaking views. Complete your adventure with a relaxing stop at a local café, savoring traditional Korean teas while sharing stories with fellow hikers.

Meeting and pickup
Meet at the Starbucks Gyeongju Daereungwon Branch at 9am. I will be waiting in front of the shop, waving at you! Starbucks Gyeongju Daereungwon Branch 140-2 Hwangnam-dong Gyeongju-si Gyeongsangbuk-do. If guests are late for longer than 15 mins, will be regarded as a no show.

Drive to the trail head, a scenic drive down to the trail head passing Woljjeonggyo Bridge, Gyeongju Royal Tombs area.

1Gyeongju National Park
We will be starting our walk in a little village nestled in Gyeongju's Namsan Mountain. From the carpark, will require a short 15 walk through local village to the trail head.

Discover the hidden gem of Yongjang Valley, one of my favourite tracks around Gyeongju, immersed in the natural beauty and history. We will hike up to see Yongjangsa Temple site with a stunning 3 story pagoda on top of the hill. Here, we will stop to enjoy its breathtaking views, and time to relax and meditate.
