Early morning transfer to the airport for a thrilling 35-minute scenic flight to Lukla, the gateway to Mt. Everest. After meeting our local porters and organizing gear, we begin our trek. We descend gradually along the Dudh Koshi River, passing traditional Sherpa villages and beautifully carved Mani stones, until we reach the village of Phakding.
Today we trek along the banks of the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several high suspension bridges, including the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge. We enter the Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo, where our permits are checked. From there, we begin a steep, challenging climb through pine forests to reach Namche Bazaar, the vibrant trading hub of the Everest region, offering our first glimpses of Mt. Everest.
Today is a dedicated acclimatization day to help our bodies adjust to the high altitude. We take a scenic uphill hike to the famous Hotel Everest View, one of the highest hotels in the world, to enjoy panoramic views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. Afterward, we return to Namche Bazaar to explore the local mountain museums, cafes, and markets.
We follow a scenic trail winding along the hillside, offering breathtaking views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and Lhotse. The trail drops down to the river at Phunki Thenga for lunch before a steady, steep climb through rhododendron forests to reach Tengboche. In the late afternoon, we will visit the famous Tengboche Monastery, the largest spiritual center in the Khumbu region, to observe the monks performing evening prayers.
Today's trek begins with a gentle descent through lush rhododendron and birch forests to Deboche, crossing the Imja Khola via a suspension bridge. We pass through Pangboche village, taking in spectacular, up-close views of Ama Dablam. The trail then opens up into an alpine landscape as we climb steadily past the tree line to reach the scenic, stone-walled fields of Dingboche village.
Today is our second crucial acclimatization day. We take a scenic, steep uphill hike to Nangkartshang Peak (or Nagarjun Hill) located directly above the Dingboche valley. Climbing to over 5,000 meters offers a great high-altitude workout and rewards us with breathtaking panoramic views of Makalu, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Island Peak. We then descend back to Dingboche for a restful afternoon
Today's trek takes us through a high alpine landscape with dramatic mountain views. We climb steadily up to Thukla for a short rest, then make a steep ascent up the Thukla Pass. At the top, we pass the moving stone memorials dedicated to climbers who lost their lives on Mt. Everest. The trail then levels out, following the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier to reach the small settlement of Lobuche.
The big day is here! We trek along the rocky moraine of the Khumbu Glacier to the final settlement of Gorak Shep, where we check into our lodge and have a quick lunch. From there, we continue our hike over the glacier's rocky trails to reach Everest Base Camp. Stand at the foot of the world’s highest peak, take memorable photos, and witness the incredible Khumbu Icefall before hiking back to Gorak Shep for the night.
We wake up early before dawn for a challenging climb up Kala Patthar, the highest viewpoint of our trek. The effort is fully rewarded with an unforgettable sunrise over Mt. Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse. After taking photos, we descend to Gorak Shep for a warm breakfast, pack our gear, and begin trekking back down through the valley past Lobuche to the village of Pheriche.
We continue our descent through alpine meadows and cross the Imja Khola River. We climb briefly back up to Tengboche Monastery before descending steeply through rhododendron forests to the riverbed [2, 3]. From there, we follow the winding trail high above the Dudh Koshi River, walking back into Namche Bazaar [1, 2]. Enjoy a well-deserved hot shower, a coffee at a local bakery, and celebrate the successful trek [1].
Today is our final day on the trekking trail. We make a long descent from Namche Bazaar back down to the Dudh Koshi River, crossing our final suspension bridges. We pass through Monjo to exit the Sagarmatha National Park, and continue walking through Phakding village. A final gradual uphill climb brings us back to Lukla, where we can celebrate the incredible trek with our local team and porters.
Early in the morning, we take our 35-minute scenic return flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. Upon arrival at the airport, our vehicle will transfer you back to your hotel in Thamel. The rest of the day is completely yours to rest, enjoy a hot shower, massage your tired muscles, or do some last-minute shopping for souvenirs in the lively streets of Thamel
