Step into the area of the old city gates. Here, we discuss the ancient defensive walls of Porto and how the city transitioned from a medieval fortress into a bustling merchant hub.
Discover the dark and fascinating history of Porto’s former high-court prison. This imposing building housed famous Portuguese figures and now serves as the Portuguese Center of Photography—a perfect example of how Porto repurposes its historic stone structures.
