In the morning, you can choose between Croc Farm Park, near the airport, to discover crocodiles and local wildlife, or Tsimbazaza Zoological Park, showcase of Malagasy biodiversity in the heart of the capital.
In the afternoon, head to the heritage and culture with a visit to the Queen’s Palace, a symbol of royal history, followed or preceded by the Museum of Photography, which unveils the country’s visual memory.
Finally, to make this experience unique, I take you off the classic paths: the sunset in the upper town, with the local community, and optionally, the tasting of koba and / or street barbecue accompanied by Malagasy beer, true national pride. This mix of discoveries, encounters and flavors makes this tour much more than a visit — an authentic immersion in the soul of Antananarivo.
Visitors, alone or in groups, will be picked up and escorted to the place of their choice, accessible by light car, within the limits of the Urban Municipality of Antananarivo, with some possible exceptions on the outskirts.
This meeting point is for information only, for visitors who prefer to go directly to the Check-out place rather than being picked up. In all other cases, visitors will be picked up and escorted to the point they have indicated.
Visitors can choose between two parks: Croc Farm, near Ivato Airport, centered on crocodiles, and Tsimbazaza, which offers a diversity of animals (including lemurs) and plants. Entrance tickets are not included. Croc Farm (Ivato) Located about 10 minutes from the airport. The main attraction: Nile crocodiles, visible in large numbers, especially during feeding (Wednesday, Friday and Sunday around 1pm). Other species: 80 animals including chameleons, free-ranging sifaka lemurs, fossas, snakes, turtles, parrots. Atmosphere: private park, green, very large. Tsimbazaza Zoological and Botanical Park Located in the center of Antananarivo. Recognized for its diversity of endemic animals, including several species of lemurs. Also includes a botanical garden and a natural history museum (temporarily under maintenance). Atmosphere: also vast and educational, perfect for discovering Madagascar's biodiversity as a whole.
Visitors will have the choice of lunch at Croc Farm, in a green setting near the airport, or at the Café du Musée de la Photographie, located in the heart of Antananarivo. This museum is an essential place to discover the history of the capital through rare and fascinating images, tracing the visual memory of Madagascar. Visits to the museum are optional and can be made after the discovery of the Queen’s Palace.
Visiting the Queen’s Palace, perched on Analamanga Hill, plunges visitors into the heart of Madagascar’s royal history. Inside the compound, they discover not only the restored palace but also the surrounding infrastructure, witnesses of the monarchical and colonial past. Between majestic architecture, panoramic views of Antananarivo and fascinating accounts of the Merina rulers, the experience arouses both wonder and emotion. Visitors leave with the feeling of having touched the historical soul of the capital.
The highlight of this experience is the sunset in Andohalo, renowned for being the most beautiful in the capital. From the heights of the city, you will share this unique moment alongside the local community, with a panoramic view that embraces Antananarivo and its hills bathed in golden light. The atmosphere is both warm and authentic, offering an immersion in the daily life of the inhabitants and an unforgettable moment of serenity. Optionally, you can enrich this experience by discovering koba, a traditional Malagasy cake made from peanuts and rice, wrapped in banana leaves. This local sweetness, enjoyed in front of the dusk spectacle, adds a gourmet touch to an already magical moment. There is no entrance fee to watch the sunset, but the purchase of the koba remains the responsibility of visitors.
To conclude the day, I offer you a gourmet and friendly moment around the favorite flavors of Malagasy. You will discover the lively atmosphere of the street barbecue, where grilled tapas are enjoyed in the street, accompanied by the most famous local beer, a true national pride. It is an authentic immersion in everyday life, ideal to end the experience on a festive Rating. If you do not drink beer, you can specify your preferences in advance and I will prepare typical Malagasy refreshments for you. Drinks and refreshments are not included in the tour and remain at the expense of visitors, according to their personal desires and choices. Finally, this last step is optional, everyone can decide whether or not to extend the evening in this warm atmosphere.
