This is one of the few remaining Tang Dynasty buildings in Xi'an. The construction of this pagoda during the Tang Dynasty is related to a monk we call Tang Seng (Tang Monk). 1300 years ago, he traveled alone to India, the birthplace of Buddhism, to study Buddhist teachings and brought them back to Xi'an, China. He also dedicated himself to translating Sanskrit Buddhist scriptures into Chinese, allowing more people to learn about Buddhism. In front of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda is Xi'an's famous tourist attraction, the Tang Paradise, which also features a regularly scheduled musical fountain show.
This is one of the most worthwhile tourist destinations in China, the Terracotta Army, the eighth wonder of the world. All the terracotta warriors are life-size and were made to accompany Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of China (the unifier of China), and are believed to protect him even in the afterlife.
This is currently the best-preserved and largest city wall in China. Many people can experience cycling on the wall by renting a bicycle, or visit Yongxingfang to sample the local delicacies of Shaanxi Province. It's a local food market well worth a visit and tasting. Even locals frequent this place.
This area, where Hui Muslims gather, has developed into a modern food street. It also features the Great Mosque, built during the Tang Dynasty, with an architectural style completely different from other mosques.
This is the location of the new local food market, where you can sample all the local specialties and foods from Shaanxi Province, as well as enjoy some entertainment. It's near the East Gate of Xi'an City Wall.
