Experience the classic 13-mile scenic float! The Wilson to South Park stretch is the essential Jackson Hole river trip, combining mountain views with gentle water.

Why this stretch? The Wilson section features famous "braided channels"—intimate waterways splitting around lush islands. Unlike the technical, turbulent sections found inside the park, this stretch offers a smooth flow for relaxation and superior wildlife viewing. It is premier habitat for Bald Eagles, with frequent sightings of osprey, beaver, moose, and elk on this designated Wild and Scenic River.

Family-owned since 1971. Sit back and let Lewis & Clark River Expeditions handle the oars. Our expert guides navigate the current while you enjoy 360-degree views—from the Tetons in the north to the Snake River Range in the south. A safe, dry, and unhurried experience for ages 3 to 103. Private rafts available—please call to book!

Your wildlife safari starts here! Please arrive at our office 15 minutes prior to your trip departure. This gives you just enough time to check in, sign waivers, use the restrooms, and browse our shop. We recommend dressing in layers (mornings can be crisp!) and bringing sunglasses. Binoculars are highly recommended for spotting eagles! Once everyone is checked in, we board our bus for a short drive to the launch site at Wilson Bridge. After the float, our bus brings you right back to your car at the office. You can grab a souvenir and leave a gratuity for your guide before heading off to your next adventure.

    Wilson

Your scenic float launches from this historic river hamlet nestled at the foot of Teton Pass. From the Wilson Bridge, you will push off for a peaceful 13-mile journey down to South Park Landing. This stretch is a local favorite because it features the beautiful "braided channels" of the Snake River but without the danger. Unlike the turbulent, technical water found inside the National Park, this section offers a smooth, gentle flow. It allows you to relax completely and focus on the premier Bald Eagle habitat and changing mountain scenery without worrying about the rapids.

  • Grand Teton National Park (Pass by)

As we launch from Wilson, you’ll want your cameras ready immediately. The beginning of the trip offers the most open, unobstructed views of the Grand Teton, Middle Teton, and South Teton peaks. It is the classic "postcard moment" before we dip lower into the river channel where the focus shifts to the wildlife and the water.

  • Bridger Teton National Forest (Pass by)

The river winds through these beautiful national forest lands, which are known as a premier nesting habitat for Bald Eagles and Osprey in the lower 48 states. Keep your eyes on the treetops as you float by!

As the Tetons fade into the distance, the river winds along the base of the Snake River Range. These mountains offer a softer, forested beauty compared to the jagged peaks of the park, especially in the spring when snow still clings to the upper slopes. You will float through a mix of wild cottonwood bottoms and beautiful private ranches, showcasing life along the river. It is a relaxing finish to your journey on this designated Wild and Scenic River, a protected status that safeguards the crystal-clear water and native cutthroat trout habitat you'll marvel at.
