Whether you are a total beginner who has never touched a film camera or a seasoned enthusiast, we bridge the gap between Ericeira’s rugged landscapes and the intentional, tactile world of black and white 35mm film.
We handle the technical side—providing vintage gear, custom cheat sheets, and hand-developed B&W results delivered the next day—so you can focus on the Atlantic light and the creative process.
It is a fully analogue photography experience designed for all skill levels, with the cliffs as studio and private door-to-door transport included.

We'll start off near Coxos beach where you'll be introduced to the cameras you'll be using and the cheatsheet. There will be a brief 30 minute introduction to the fundamentals of film photography that you will be putting into practice over the photowalk. We then take to the cliffs between Coxos and Ribeira D'Ilhas where we'll stop at stunning view points and hidden spots to capture vistas, details with your cameras. You'll be guided on how best to use Aperture and Shutter Speed for each situation, and the effects that each produce on your images. Once your roll is fully exposed, you can let go of the camera and simply take in the stunning rough landscape of the Ericeira Coast. Your negatives will be processed overnight and you'll receive digital scans in your email the next day.

We'll get to the cliffs above Ribeira d'Ilhas beach in time for sunset, taking in the golden light and watching the happy surfers catch the last few waves of the day before heading back.
