This private walking tour shows you two sides of Osaka. We start in Shinsekai under Tsutenkaku Tower, walk through the nearby neighborhoods of Nishinari and Nipponbashi, and finish at the Glico sign in Dotonbori.
It is just your group and a local English-speaking guide, so the pace and the time at each stop fit your group. The tour takes about 3 hours and is all on foot.
Food and drinks are not included, so you are free to eat when and where you like. Your guide is happy to point out places to eat along the way and give you suggestions for after the tour.
What's Included
Meeting and pickup
Meet at MEGA Don Quijote Shinsekai (main entrance). Metro: Dobutsuen-mae Station Exit 5. JR: Shin-Imamiya Station, Tsutenkaku East Exit (2one min walk). Guide holds a sign reading "OSS Tour". Please arrive 10 min early so we can start exactly on time.
Tour ends at the Glico Sign on Ebisubashi Bridge, Dotonbori. From here you can easily walk to Namba Station (5 min), Shinsaibashi shopping street (5 min), or stay in the area for dinner, drinks, and nightlife. Your guide can suggest restaurants or any places you want to go before saying goodbye.

Tsutenkaku (Pass by)
Photo stop at Osaka's beloved retro tower. Modeled after the Eiffel Tower and rebuilt in 1956, Tsutenkaku is an icon of Shinsekai and one of the city's most photographed landmarks. We view from the street, no entry inside.

1Shinsekai
Walk through Shinsekai, Osaka's retro entertainment district. We go through Jan Jan Yokocho, a narrow covered arcade with old game parlors and shogi halls, and the streets around Tsutenkaku. Your guide explains the history of the area and what you see along the way.

2Nishinari Dobutsuen-mae Deep Osaka Street
Walk into Nishinari, the neighborhood next to Shinsekai. It was once the center of Osaka's day-laborer district. Today it is a quiet area with retro signs, small shops, and everyday local life. Your guide explains how the area has changed.

3Hozenji Yokocho
A small, atmospheric temple tucked behind the neon of Dotonbori. Home to the moss-covered Mizukake Fudo statue, surrounded by a stone-paved alley of traditional bars and restaurants. A quiet moment of old Osaka before diving into the neon.

4Dotombori
The tour finale. Osaka's neon-lit canal street and the city's most iconic stretch. See the Glico Running Man sign, the giant crab sculpture, and feel pure Osaka energy. The tour ends here, with plenty of time for photos and optional guide restaurant suggestions.
