  Zhangjiajie Wulingyuan Scenic Area

  Wulingyuan Scenic Area of Zhangjiajie is a UNESCO World‑Natural‑Heritage Site and the prototype of floating mountains from the movie Avatar. After hundreds‑of‑millions‑year‑long crustal movement, thousands of quartz‑sandstone peaks rise steeply above deep valleys with thick green woods. When mist drifts around hilltops, peculiar peaks flicker amid clouds just like a fairy‑tale wonderland. Ten‑Mile Gallery lies in the central canyon of Wulingyuan, featuring well‑known rock formations such as the Herbalist Elder and Three‑Sisters Peaks. Hiking along canyon footpaths is our default plan for this itinerary. You can walk slowly and closely admire unique stone pillars and original forests on both sides. If you would like to avoid lengthy walking and enjoy sightseeing with less fatigue, you may choose the officially‑run Ten‑Mile Gallery Sightseeing Train. This tram is totally optional, and guests need to pay additional fees if they decide to take it.

  The Bailong Elevator is situated in Yuanjiajie, the core region of Wulingyuan Scenic Area. It is a world‑renowned engineering wonder recognised by Guinness World Records. Constructed alongside steep quartz‑sandstone cliffs, it features a vertical drop of 326 meters. From its transparent viewing cabins, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Avatar‑style peaks, the Divine Gathering rock formation and deep mountain valleys. Hiking uphill along mountain trails is our default travel plan, letting you fully immerse yourself in natural surroundings. Alternatively, you can take the officially‑operated Bailong Elevator to arrive at Yuanjiajie viewing platform quickly. The elevator fare is already covered within your tour admission without extra payment.

  Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area ranks as a core component of Wuling‑Yuan World Natural‑Heritage Site and earns its reputation as the King of Peak Forests. After hundreds‑of‑millions‑year geological changes, spectacular quartz‑sandstone peaks take shape here. Iconic landmarks including Imperial‑Brush Peaks, Fairy Presenting‑Flowers and the Herbalist‑Elder Stone stand across this zone. When mist drifts through valleys, countless pinnacles emerge and vanish among clouds just like a fairy‑land scene. Hiking along trails of Ten‑Mile Gallery is our default arrangement for this itinerary. You can walk slowly on well‑paved footpaths to closely admire weird‑shaped rocks and thick woods on both sides of the canyon. If you wish to skip lengthy walking for a more relaxed sightseeing journey, you may take the officially‑run Ten‑Mile Gallery Sightseeing Train. This tram is completely optional for visitors, and riding it will incur extra charges.

  Tianzi Mountain Cableway stands on the summit area of Tianzi Mountain within Wuling‑Yuan. Its full set of equipment is imported from Doppelmayr of Austria and it acts as a landmark high‑altitude sightseeing facility. Stretching 2084 meters long, it has an elevation difference of 692 meters between upper and lower stations with an extremely steady ride. While travelling down slowly in viewing gondolas, guests overlook extensive quartz‑sandstone peaks and admire magnificent landscapes of Imperial‑Brush Peaks and West‑Sea Stone Forest. After finishing sightseeing on the mountain‑top, our tour group will take the officially‑run Tianzi Mountain Cableway for downhill transfer and wrap‑up your trip with fantastic bird‑eye views over the peak‑forest scenery.

  Charming Xiangxi Theatre

  Located in the heart of Wuling‑Yuan Scenic Area, Charm Xiangxi Grand Theatre showcases the profound local culture of Tujia, Miao and Yao ethnic groups. It presents intangible‑heritage performances including Sangzhi folk songs, Maogusi dance, Tujia weeping‑wedding and traditional folk stunts. After enjoying natural mountain scenery of Wuling, watch this wonderful show and dive deep into thousands‑year‑old Xiangxi local culture.
