Istanbul Turkish Mosaic Lamp Workshop in Balat - All Included

1 hour 30 minutes (approximately)
Offered in: English

Skip the tourist-trap souvenir stalls and make your own Turkish mosaic lamp in the heart of Balat — Istanbul's most colorful neighborhood. In a small studio capped at 8 guests, a bilingual host walks you through every piece of glass, every color choice, every placement. No pre-assembled kits, no assembly-line feel. Two hands-on hours, a Turkish tea break, and the reveal moment when your own lamp lights up for the first time. You leave the same evening with a finished lamp, boxed and ready — not shipped, not promised for later.

What to expect

In a cozy studio on one of Balat's most photogenic streets, you'll design and build your very own Turkish mosaic lamp from scratch. Your bilingual host will walk you through the history of Turkish mosaic lamp craft before introducing you to the materials — a tray of colored glass pieces, a glass base, and the tools of the trade.

Over the next 1.5 hours, you'll select your colors, arrange your own pattern, and carefully place each piece onto your lamp. There's no "right" design; some travelers go geometric, others freeform, others chase a specific color story. Your host is there to guide, not dictate.

Mid-session, pause for snacks and light refreshments while your lamp sets. When we switch on the light for the reveal moment, you'll see your own design glow for the first time — and you'll have photos to remember it.

You leave the same day with your finished lamp, safely packaged in a branded takeaway box. No shipping, no waiting, no assembly kits — every piece placed by your own hand.
