This is not a museum. Bruket – Fish Factory is the world's first visitor centre for wild fish, and you're walking into an operational factory where real production is happening around you.
Your guide — one of the factory workers — takes you through the entire production, from raw catch to finished product ready for export. You'll see live king crab, learn about stockfish — one of Norway's oldest export trades — and discover how strict quotas, modern technology and generations of skill work together to keep this resource sustainable.
Expect sounds, smells and hands-on moments. This is a full five-senses experience.
The tour wraps up with a tasting of three products: boiled king crab, dried stockfish, and sugar-salted smoked Norwegian caviar. After the tasting, browse the gift shop for locally crafted jewellery and keepsakes featuring otoliths — the lucky stones found inside cod heads.
Step inside a real, working fish factory in Nordvågen — where the catches from the ocean come ashore — for a guided tour through the entire production, from dock to finished product. The tour ends with a tasting of king crab, stockfish and Norwegian caviar, and a visit to the gift shop.
