Live an unforgettable experience paddling at sunset along the spectacular west coast of La Palma. This kayaking tour starts from the magical Porís de Candelaria to the impressive Cueva Bonita, one of the most emblematic and surprising places in the Canary Islands, accessible only by sea.

The adventure begins in the Porís de Candelaria, a unique corner where ancient fishermen’s houses are hidden under a huge cave by the ocean. After a brief explanation of kayaking safety and management, we will begin the journey by skirting volcanic cliffs and crystal clear waters as the sun begins to fall over the Atlantic.

During the route you will enjoy a calm and special atmosphere, with the sky tinged with golden, orange and red tones that reflect on the sea. The contrast between Tijarafe’s volcanic coast and the sunset light makes this experience one of the most magical moments you can experience in La Palma.

Access to the Porís de Candelaria is made by descending a tarmac track with sharp curves and steep slope. The drive takes about 10–15 minutes. From the car park, you will have to walk about 10 minutes to the Porís, where we will be waiting for you.

What to expect

During the sunset route, tourists will discover the Cueva Bonita illuminated by the golden sunlight entering from the ocean. Inside the cave you will see how the orange and red reflections are projected onto the volcanic walls and crystal clear water, creating a magical and unique atmosphere in La Palma. In addition, they will enjoy the contrast between the dark cliffs, the sound of the sea and the sky changing color as the sun falls over the Atlantic.
