Look for a white or gray SUV parked at the Achada do Teixeira parking lot. Your guide will be waiting next to the vehicle.

End point

If you leave your car at Achada do Teixeira, we take you to Pico do Areeiro so you can start the PR1 from the top and finish back at your car. If you leave your car at Pico do Areeiro, we take you from Achada do Teixeira to Pico do Areeiro so you can collect your car after completing the hike.

What to expect

When booking, you select your preferred pick-up time. You'll then receive a confirmation with that time, and your driver will share their live location so you can find each other easily at the Achada do Teixeira parking area. On the day of your transfer, your private driver will be waiting there at the time you chose. You'll travel directly to Pico do Arieiro in a comfortable private SUV, suited for Madeira's high-altitude mountain roads. The transfer is one-way, takes approximately 1 hour, and is exclusively for your group — no other passengers, no shared stops. Once at Pico do Arieiro, you're dropped off at the PR1 trailhead, whether you're starting your hike or heading back to your parked car.
