Akihabara has another side that most visitors never see. This is a respectful, adults-only (18+) walking tour that gradually takes you deeper into that world. We begin with “normal Akihabara” – anime and game shops – and then, step by step with your guide, move into doujinshi stores, 18+ floors, and large adult shops.
Rather than a simple “shock value” night tour, this experience focuses on context and understanding. Your guide explains why otaku culture and so‑called “hentai” culture are so visible on the streets here, including the history, zoning rules, and local manners behind it.
This tour is designed for adult travelers who are curious but cautious – people who might feel awkward entering these spaces alone, but want to see them properly, with clear cultural background and etiquette. It’s a deep dive into Akihabara culture, with a focus on respect and learning rather than voyeurism.

JR Akihabara Station Electric Town Exit (Denki-Gai Exit) Meeting details: Please meet in front of the large “Akihabara Station” sign at the Electric Town Exit, next to the Atre 1 shopping mall entrance. Your guide will be holding a small sign that says “Akihabara 18+ Culture Deep Dive”.

After meeting up with your guide, you will receive a brief introduction to the Akihabara area and the theme of this tour. From here, we will begin our walking tour through Akihabara, a district where mainstream pop culture and adult-oriented subcultures coexist. Next, we will visit one of Akihabara's iconic landmarks to explore how collector culture—including figures, hobby items, and anime merchandise—has shaped the unique character of this neighborhood.

Meet your guide for a quick introduction to Akihabara and the theme of our tour!
