During this self-guided experience, travelers can explore one of Scotland's most fascinating heritage landmarks at their own pace with admission included. Perched above Loch Ness, the restored estate offers an opportunity to discover centuries of history, from its origins as a Highland hunting lodge and later expansion by the Fraser family to its associations with Aleister Crowley and Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page. Visitors can admire the restored building and grounds, including the remarkable reclaimed Ballachulish slate roof, while learning how an international community of volunteers removed more than 124 tonnes of rubble by hand following two devastating fires to preserve the property. The experience also includes time to enjoy the dramatic Highland scenery surrounding the estate before concluding with an optional whisky or gin tasting that highlights local distilling traditions. Comfortable footwear is recommended for exploring the grounds and uneven outdoor surfaces.
