Discover Câmara de Lobos from two very different angles, sweeping viewpoints from above, then the real texture of the village at street level. I’ll take you along scenic roads to Pico da Torre and the Ilhéu before heading down to the colourful fishing harbour.
As we explore the village together, I’ll share stories about its fishing traditions, the famous poncha, and Winston Churchill, who once came here to paint this very bay. There’s time for photos and for soaking up the atmosphere in one of Madeira’s most characteristic places.
This is a fully private tour, so I’ll happily adapt the route to your pace and interests. I was born and raised just along the coast in Funchal, and Câmara de Lobos never gets old for me, I hope you’ll leave with a real feel for this village and a side of Madeira many visitors never slow down enough to see.

If your accommodation is on a narrow or restricted street, a nearby pickup point may be arranged. Drop-off can also be arranged within Funchal, where safely accessible.

One of the most impressive viewpoints in Câmara de Lobos, Pico da Torre offers a full 360-degree panorama over the fishing village, the bay and the Atlantic. From here, the coastline’s contrasts become clear, fishing boats by the water, houses climbing the hillside, and banana plantations stretching out towards Cabo Girão.

A small, peaceful garden overlooking the bay of Câmara de Lobos, named after the little islet just offshore. From here, there are lovely views over the village rooftops and the Atlantic beyond, away from the busier viewpoints nearby.

3Baia de Camara de Lobos
One of Madeira’s most picturesque fishing villages, and the place where Winston Churchill once set up his easel to paint the bay. The old streets lead down to a small harbour, past colourful fishing boats and the local bars where fishermen still gather.
