Guided Wine Tasting in Skopje and Discover Local Wines

1 hour (approximately)
Offered in: English

This isn't an ordinary wine tasting — it's the only one in Skopje guided personally by an international wine judge, in the heart of the city, designed specifically for travelers who want to experience the very best of Macedonian wine without losing a full day to a countryside winery tour.
In just 60 minutes, you'll taste five carefully chosen wines that tell the full story of Macedonia — including indigenous grape varieties like Vranec and Stanušina that you simply cannot find anywhere else in the world. You'll learn directly from someone who judges wines on the international stage, gaining the same professional tasting techniques used in global wine competitions. Skills you'll keep for life, applicable to any wine, anywhere.

What to expect

You'll be warmly welcomed by me, Natasha, in one of Skopje's most charming wine venues — the Paint and Wine Center.
You'll begin with a short introduction to Macedonia as one of the world's "old new wine countries" — a tradition spanning more than 4,000 years — followed by its wine regions and grape varieties.
Before the first pour, I'll guide you through the systematic tasting method I use as an international wine judge — how to look, swirl, smell, and taste wine properly, along with insider tips you can apply in any restaurant or wine shop worldwide.
You'll then taste five selected wines, poured from lightest to fullest-bodied. For each, you'll learn the story of the producer, grape, and region, and practice the tasting together.
Light local bites are served throughout to cleanse your palate and enhance each pour. We'll close with an open conversation — ask anything, and I'll share recommendations on bottles to take home and how to travel with wine.
Total experience: around 60+ minutes, at a relaxed pace, adapted to your level — whether you're new to wine or a longtime enthusiast. Your tasting station will be prepared with glasses, water, palate cleansers, and a tasting card.
