Guests depart from Yzerfontein Harbour and cruise toward Dassen Island. Along the way, travellers can look out for Cape fur seals, Sunfish, Penguins and many other marine wildlife. At Dassen Island, guests view one of South Africa’s key seabird colonies, including African penguins (Largest remaining colony), Cape gannets, Great White Pelicans (one of two breeding grounds), and cormorants. The boat allows close wildlife viewing while respecting the protected environment. Travelers also see the island’s historic lighthouse and rugged coastline while learning about marine life and conservation from the guide. On the other side, guests will view the seal colony and Blomtuin.
