What's Included
Meeting and pickup
Hotel pickup is available within the Boquete and Volcan area. Pickup time will be confirmed after booking. Travelers staying in vacation rentals, hostels, or private accommodations can arrange pickup after reservation. Guests staying outside the pickup area may be asked to meet at Wanderlust Store Boquete or David.
Meeting point: Los Llanos Ranger Station, Volcan Baru National Park (Paso Ancho entrance). Detailed directions and exact meeting instructions will be provided after booking.

1Volcan Baru
Travelers will reach 3475 MSNM to the highest point. The hike will take approximately 7.2 km from the Paso Ancho trailhead to the camping area, ascending through cloud forests, volcanic landscapes, and high-altitude páramo ecosystems. The hike typically takes approximately 5–7 hours at a steady pace, depending on weather and group conditions. The final approximately 800 meters to the summit area may be completed in the afternoon to enjoy the sunset, weather permitting, or early the following morning for sunrise. The adventure concludes at a unique camping area located inside one of Volcan Barú’s largest volcanic craters. Here, travelers can relax, set up the tent and enjoy mountains views, weather permitting. This is a challenging and physically demanding mountain hike with steep, uneven, and technical sections. Travelers should have a good level of fitness and be prepared for changing weather conditions and 1675 msnm elevation gain.

2Volcan Baru
Wake up before dawn and continue to the summit of Volcan Baru to witness a spectacular sunrise from the highest point in Panama. On clear days, travelers may enjoy views of both the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. After breakfast, the group will begin the hike back down through the Paso Ancho Trail.
