Walls : Wood painted in bright colors or simply treated to the natural. Simple interior : Large and open spaces. Some houses have traditional utensils such as pylons, cauldrons, hammocks, mahogany or reed beds. Floor : Polished cement or rammed earth. Decoration : Crafts, local musical instruments (such as the güiro or drum), religious paintings or family photos. Environment: It is usually surrounded by cocoa, coffee, sugarcane or tobacco plantations, with loose animals such as chickens or goats. Tourist function: Some of these houses are adapted for cultural demonstrations, such as how coffee is ground, how artisan tobacco is produced or how coconut oil is extracted.
