Meeting point and beginning of the experience: P.o Carlos III, 120, 28200 San Lorenzo de El Escorial, Madrid We will start our route in Casa del Infante, in a quiet environment and surrounded by the characteristic landscape of San Lorenzo de El Escorial. Here we will meet the guide, adjust the e-bikes and give a brief briefing on their handling and on the journey ahead. From this point we will start an experience that will take us to discover the historical and natural landscape that surrounds El Escorial, combining roads, forest, viewpoints and some of the most special views of the Real Sitio.
Facing the great icon of El Escorial Our next stop will be the Lonja of the Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, one of the most recognizable monumental ensembles in Spain. From this large outdoor space we can contemplate the impressive scale of the Monastery, briefly know its historical importance and place it within the landscape that we will travel during the route. It will be a visual and contextual stop, with no interior visit, designed to enjoy one of the most emblematic perspectives of the Royal Site before continuing to the paths and forests of La Herrería.
Basilica of the Royal Monastery — The monumental heart of El Escorial We will make a short stop in front of the Basilica of the Royal Monastery, in the heart of the monumental complex. From this point we will be able to appreciate the monumental architecture of the Royal Site and know some keys to its history before continuing our route by electric bicycle. A brief but special stop, which allows us to approach one of the most representative spaces of the Monastery before leaving behind the monumental environment and heading towards the natural landscapes of El Escorial.
Casa del Príncipe — Architecture and gardens of the Royal Site We will continue the route to the Casita del Príncipe, one of the most elegant corners of El Escorial. We will make a short stop outside to contemplate this small palace surrounded by gardens and understand its relationship with the courtly life of the Royal Site. The contrast between its most intimate scale and the monumentality of the Monastery brings a new perspective to the tour. From here we will continue by e-bike to the natural landscapes of La Herrería, progressively leaving behind the monumental area.
We will leave behind the monumental surroundings to enter La Herrería, one of the most representative natural areas of San Lorenzo de El Escorial. We will cross this landscape by electric bicycle, pedaling between woods, paths and clearings from which you can perceive how the Royal Site integrates into its natural environment. This section marks one of the most attractive changes of the route: we move from architecture and history to a more immersive experience, surrounded by nature and enjoying the tour calmly.
Philip II Chair — The Great Viewpoint of the Road We will arrive on our e-bikes to the Silla de Felipe II, one of the most emblematic places in the surroundings of San Lorenzo de El Escorial and one of the main stops of the experience. Here we will leave the bikes for a few minutes to approach the viewpoint and enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the Royal Monastery and the surrounding landscape. The guide will tell us the tradition that links this place with Philip II and some keys to understand the relationship between the Monastery and its natural environment. A stop to rest, enjoy the views and take pictures before continuing our route through La Herrería.
End of the tour: Return to the Finca de La Herrería — A last stretch between nature After enjoying the Chair of Philip II, we will start the return to the meeting point by roads of the Finca de La Herrería. This last section will allow us to continue enjoying the natural landscape of El Escorial, pedaling between forest, quiet roads and corners with great landscape value before returning to Casa del Infante. An especially pleasant closure for the experience, leaving behind the monumental views and finishing the route again in the middle of nature.
