Come experience the heart of Argentina's gaucho culture in San Antonio de Areco, just a short trip from Buenos Aires. In this town, you'll explore iconic landmarks like the Parish of San Antonio de Padua and the Bessonart Tavern, with an optional visit to renowned workshops for criollo silversmithing and leatherworking. Then, head to Estancia El Ombú, where you'll enjoy a traditional criollo barbecue (asado), witness incredible gaucho skills, and be entertained by music, dance, and exciting demonstrations of boleadoras and horseback riding.

    You will be pick up from your hotel and around 8.30 am depart Buenos Aires in a comfortable bus for the scenic ride of 2 hours through the Argentine pampas (plains) to El Ombú de Areco, located in San Antonio de Areco.

    San Antonio de Areco

    Once in San Antonio de Areco, the birthplace of gaucho culture, we will explore its most iconic landmarks, including the Parish of San Antonio de Padua and the Bessonart Tavern. During our visit, we will have the opportunity to tour the Draghi silversmith workshop and the Navarro leather workshop, both famous for their traditional criollo craftsmanship (entrance fee not included).

    Around 11:45 am, we will depart for Estancia El Ombú de Areco, where we will enjoy a delicious criollo barbecue and witness demonstrations of gaucho skills, traditional music, and dance. You will also see an exciting display of boleadoras and horseback riding skills.
