After having breakfast at your hotel, you will be picked up by your private guide to start the tour from the city of Salta to the south, through Route 68 that crosses the Lerma Valley and its historic towns. You reach the Quebrada de las Conchas, where wind and water erosion carved curious shapes in the rocks (El Anfiteatro, La Garganta del Diablo, El Sapo, Los Castillos).
Upon arrival into Cafayate, a picturesque village famous for its vineyards. Visit a winery with wine tasting, the tour and tasting are guided by a sommelier who explains the particularities of the wine, the vineyard and the winery as well. Time for lunch in Cafayate, enjoy around the city and markets. Then we come back to Salta, the tour ends with the drop off at your hotel.
You will be picked up at your hotel in the morning to go on a tour to Quebrada de Humahuaca. Declared a World Heritage Site, this area where the landscape and the colours of the hills mix with the equally colourful cultures, is an ideal destination for those who want to know more about Argentina's past and heritage.
The tour continue with the arrival to the town of Purmamarca to observe the Cerro de los Siete Colores (Seven Colors Hill), you will have time to visit the the Church and the Artisan Market and to walk around the village.
Continue to Huacalera, passage of the Tropic of Capricorn, from where you can see the colors of the hill called the Pollera de la Colla.
Arrival in Humahuaca with its important Cathedral and the Monument to Independence (El Indio) by the sculptor Soto Avendaño. Get time for lunch and tour the village and artisan market.
We continue our journey, passing through the town of Iturbe and Abra del Cóndor (3900 masl) arriving at the beginning of a small gorge where this small town, Iruya, of pre-Hispanic origins, is located. We are going to spend the night here.
During the next day, we begin our trip back to Salta, visiting the city of San Salvador de Jujuy on the way. We return to our hotels in Salta in the afternoon.
