What to expect

The adventure begins in the morning at the Tres Puentes terminal, where we will board a ferry for a 2-hour journey across the Strait of Magellan—a historic 583 km channel that links the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. Our destination is Tierra del Fuego, arriving in Porvenir, the island’s main city, where we will enjoy a delicious lunch to start the day.

After lunch, we will continue along Bahía Inútil, crossing the island’s vast pampas and endless horizons. Along the way, you may spot a variety of birds, traditional sheep farms, and herds of guanacos—a South American camelid related to llamas and alpacas.

After approximately 114 km, we will arrive at the King Penguin Park, home to a permanent colony of this species, the second-largest penguin in the world after the emperor penguin.

We will then head back to the continent via Primera Angostura, the narrowest point of the strait at just 5 km wide, crossing by ferry in about 20 minutes. From there, we will continue by road for approximately 200 km until we return to Punta Arenas.
