What to expect

We will start our adventure at 7:00 AM, departing from our hotels in Punta Arenas and heading to the pier. From there, we will board a ferry for a scenic 2.5-hour crossing of the legendary Strait of Magellan, on our way to the island of Tierra del Fuego.

Our first stop will be in Porvenir, where we will visit the Fernando Cordero Museum. This museum offers fascinating insights into the culture and way of life of the Selknam, the island’s ancient inhabitants. After the visit, we will take a break to enjoy lunch.

In the afternoon, we will continue to the King Penguin Park, home to a permanent colony of these striking birds—the second-largest penguin species in the world after the Emperor Penguin of Antarctica. Watching them in their natural habitat is a truly unique experience.

To finish our journey, we will head to Primera Angostura, the narrowest point of the strait, where we will take a short ferry ride back to the mainland. From there, we will continue our drive to return to Punta Arenas.
