What to expect

Departing from Punta Arenas, we sail through the legendary Strait of Magellan, enjoying stunning views of coastal landscapes, fishermen’s coves, and even a glimpse of Tierra del Fuego. Along the way, keep an eye out for seabirds and, with some luck, playful southern dolphins.

After approximately two hours, we’ll arrive at the Los Pingüinos Natural Monument, home to an astonishing colony of over 120,000 Magellanic penguins, along with sea lions and other coastal wildlife.

Walk along well-marked trails that lead from the shore to the island’s highest point. You’ll be able to observe penguins up close, nesting and interacting in their natural habitat — a unique spectacle that occurs between October and March, during their breeding and molting season.

At the summit, visit the Environmental Interpretation Center and lighthouse, where a short climb rewards you with spectacular panoramic views of Isla Magdalena and the surrounding seascape — a perfect photo opportunity and a moment to take in the wild beauty of Patagonia.
