What's Included
Meeting and pickup
Meet at Shinagawa Station, outside the Central Gate. Your host will meet you there. Your host's home address and detailed meeting instructions will be sent after your booking is confirmed.
What to expect
Meet your host at a nearby station, then visit a neighborhood supermarket to choose fresh ingredients and learn about everyday Japanese food.
Next, head to your host's home and cook real home-style Japanese dishes together. Each host has their own family recipes, so the menu varies — this is the food Japanese families actually eat at home, not a fixed restaurant menu. After cooking, sit down and enjoy dinner together around the family table.
After dinner, you can visit a local sento, a traditional Japanese public bath. Towels, soap and shampoo are provided, tattoos are welcome, and the sento is completely optional.
Your host will walk you back to the station at the end of the experience.
