Stop at High Country Salmon to feed the fish and sample some of the freshest salmon in the country, a delicious highlight of your journey.
Climbing in altitude, Lindis Pass has amazing views down through the valley. Being one of only three alpine roads through the otherwise impassable Southern Alps, we stop at the Lindis Pass lookout 971m above sea level for an essential photo.
Pause near Cromwell for the chance to try or buy seasonal local fruit and real fruit ice cream.
Drive through the dramatic Kawarau Gorge, where you’ll spot the famous suspension bridge and roaring Meg Lookout before arriving in Queenstown.
