Go to the equestrian statue of Louis XIV, next to the Louvre Pyramid at Cour Napoléon. Your Guide will have a sign with the name Mel Rolan to facilitate identification.

Your Guide will welcome you to the Louvre Pyramid and contextualize the history of the palace that houses the world’s largest museum. You will hear about the transformation of a medieval fortress into a royal residence and then into a museum, understand the architectural controversy that the glass pyramid caused when it was inaugurated, and have time for photos in the courtyard before going to the Tuileries Gardens.

2Jardin des Tuileries
Your Guide will guide you through the Tuileries Gardens, the oldest and most formal park in Paris, designed in the 17th century. You’ll walk through the fonts and classic sculptures, hear how the garden was the backyard of the French kings before turning into public space, and feel the transition between the Louvre’s rigour and the elegance that follows towards the Place de la Concorde.

3Place de la Concorde
Your Guide will take you to Paris’ largest square, the scene of some of the most dramatic episodes of the French Revolution. You will hear the history of the Obelisk of Luxor, a gift from Egypt in the 19th century, understand why this square was chosen as a scene for public executions during the Revolution, and have one of the best views of the Champs-Élysées extending to the Arc de Triomphe.

Your Guide will accompany you through Paris’ most famous avenue, walking through shops, historic cafés and the architecture that has consolidated the Champs-Élysées as a symbol of French elegance. 5Arc de Triomphe
Your Guide will take you to the base of the Arc de Triomphe, ending the tour at the monument celebrating French military victories and guarding the tomb of the Unknown Soldier. You will hear the story behind the building ordered to be erected by Napoleon, understand the symbolism of the relics carved on the facade, and have time for photos before finishing the tour.
