Füssen becomes an interactive treasure hunt. Most visitors rush past on their way to Neuschwanstein — this walk shows you the town they miss. Follow a route from the roaring Lechfall past the High Castle and the painted lanes of one of Bavaria's oldest towns, and at every stop answer a quiz question you find in the surroundings — the clue is around you, not on a screen. Sightseeing, a continuous story and a light brain-teaser rolled into one, played at your own pace straight from your phone's browser. No app, no account, no live guide: just open the link and start exploring.
Your starting point is the Lechfall, the waterfall on the southern edge of Füssen — about a 10-minute walk from Füssen train station. This is self-guided: no guide meets you. Just start at the viewing bridge and follow the route on your own phone.
The route finishes at the Museum of Füssen, in the former St. Mang monastery in the heart of the old town — just a few minutes' walk from shops, cafés and the bus stops to Neuschwanstein.
The starting point of the quiz walk. Answer your first quiz question at the roaring Lech waterfall with its emerald-green water, then follow the route into the old town.
Answer a quiz question beneath the medieval High Castle with its famous illusion paintings — one of Germany's best-preserved late-Gothic castle complexes, towering over the old town.
Several quiz questions take you through the painted lanes and fountains of the old town — one of Bavaria's oldest streets, the Reichenstrasse, plus quiet corners most Neuschwanstein day-trippers never see.
