Maastricht Self Guided Walking Tour and City Exploration Game

2 hours (approximately)
Offered in: German and 6 more

Maastricht becomes an interactive treasure hunt. Most visitors know the city for its shopping streets and the Vrijthof terraces — this walk gives you the whole town, at your own pace. Follow a route from the Basilica of Our Lady across the Vrijthof to the old Sphinx factory quarter, over the Markt to the Wyck side of the Meuse and back across the Hoge Brug to the medieval Helpoort gate and a watermill that still bakes bread, and at every one of the 11 stops answer a quiz question you find in the surroundings — the clue is around you, not on a screen. Sightseeing, a continuous story and a light brain-teaser rolled into one, played at your own pace on your phone: in the browser with no account needed, or in the CityWalkGems app. No live guide: just open the link and start exploring. Perfect before the Christmas market on the Vrijthof, or in the hours between two trains.
