Give a real kimono a beautiful second life
Discover the beauty of traditional Japanese textiles through a relaxing, hands-on craft experience in historic Yanaka, Tokyo.

At Yanaka UpCraft Studio, you won’t simply buy a souvenir—you’ll create one yourself using real kimono fabric.

During the workshop, you’ll discover fascinating stories, patterns, and symbolism found in Japanese kimono while learning how these treasured textiles can be given a new life through creative craftsmanship.

After a friendly introduction and a short presentation about kimono culture, your host will explain the day’s craft project and guide you step by step as you create your own unique handmade keepsake.

No previous craft experience is required. The small-group setting creates a relaxed and personal atmosphere

At the end of the workshop, take photos with your creation and enjoy some time browsing vintage items before taking home a meaningful piece of Japan made by your own hands.
