Begin your private shore excursion with pickup directly from Yatsushiro Port. Travel comfortably in your own private vehicle. Unlike a large group tour, there is no need to keep pace with others, allowing you to enjoy each destination at your own pace.
Begin at Yatsushiro Shrine, a historic shrine closely connected to the region's cultural traditions. Continue to Yatsushiro Castle Ruins, where you can explore the remains of a former castle, including its stone walls and moat.
Next, visit Shohinken Garden, a beautiful traditional Japanese garden associated with the Matsui family, who once governed the area.
If time permits, stop at Mizushima Ryujin Shrine, a small coastal shrine known for its scenic waterfront setting, before returning to Yatsushiro Port.

Visit one of Yatsushiro’s most important historic shrines, traditionally regarded as one of Japan’s three major Myoken shrines. It is closely associated with the Yatsushiro Myoken Festival, whose ritual procession is part of a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage listing.

Explore the remains of Yatsushiro Castle, built in the early Edo period. The surviving stone walls and inner moat preserve traces of the former castle, and the site forms part of the nationally designated Yatsushiro Castle Ruins historic site.

Visit Shohinken, a historic garden created in 1688 by Matsui Naoyuki for his mother. Designated as a National Place of Scenic Beauty, the garden preserves the atmosphere and refined culture of Yatsushiro’s former castle town.
