Drôme Côtes du Rhône Grignan Day Geology Terroir Wine

7 hours (approximately)
Offered in: English and 2 more

A terroir experience that begins in the landscape and continues in the glass. Accompanied by a geologist and professional coach, you will discover in a different way the wine landscapes of the Drôme. Rocks, reliefs, soils, water, climate and exhibition tell the story of a terroir and allow a better understanding of what makes each vineyard unique.
We walk, observe, question and exchange. Why is the vine growing here? What does the rock beneath our feet reveal? How do terrain and soil influence growing conditions? In a small group, everyone participates in the experiment and interacts directly with the Guide. The discovery becomes a friendly moment, accessible to curious and wine lovers alike.
The walk continues in a winery open to the public, with a free tasting allowing you to discover the wines of the territory at your own pace. Private on request.

What to expect

Accompanied by a Geologist Guide and Coach, you will walk through the Drômois vineyard from 10am to 5pm for a complete reading of the terroir: how rock, soil and climate shape the character of wine. The guided walk crosses the heritage of the Grignan sector, between hilltop villages, castles and Provencal history, before stopping in a winery open to the public for a free tasting. A lunch break, to be paid on site, paces the day and prolongs the exchange in a friendly atmosphere.

This double reading — geological and cultural — invites us to understand how the landscape has shaped the people who inhabit it, as well as the wine they produce. Thirty years of terrain, between geology and human accompaniment, nourish a demanding and embodied approach: to see the landscape differently, to better understand what it tells about us.
