You will start the tour in Plaza Independencia. There you will stop in front of the emblematic Palacio Salvo, Palacio Estevez, Torre Presidenteial, Teatro Solis, Puerta de la Ciudadela and Mausoleum of José G. Artigas. You will make a brief descriptive and historical tour of each and then stop to enjoy the place, tour it and take pictures according to your preference (this will be done at each of the points of the tour).
Continue through Avenida 18 de Julio to the Mirador de la Intendencia de Montevideo, where you will enjoy a unique 360° panoramic view of the city. Continue through the great Legislative Palace, then visit the Montevideo Hill, its fortress and its unmissable view of the Montevideo Bay.
Later you will visit the Prado and its characteristic Rosedal, the Sanctuary of Cerrito de la Victoria, Batlle Park and Centennial Stadium. Then you will walk along the Montevideo rambla and stop at the Letters of Montevideo, finally ending at Parque Rodó.
It will be collected and delivered to the traveler in their accommodation, with timely prior coordination.
Starting our tour, we will head to the iconic Independence Square where we will stop to appreciate the most emblematic buildings and monuments that are located there, these are: Palacio Salvo, Palacio Estevez, Torre executive/presidential, Teatro Solis, Puerta de la Ciudadela and the Monument and Mausoleum of José Gervasio Artigas.
We'll drive down the main avenue of the city. This is noted for its great commercial, cultural and gastronomic activity. It is characterized by its buildings of great historical and architectural value.
With 77 meters of altitude, in this viewpoint we can appreciate an unparalleled 360° panoramic view of the entire city.
We will travel along the southern rambla and port rambla, bordering part of the Montevideo coast and the entire sector of the Port of Montevideo, the main logistics center of the Rio de la Plata and driving force of the Uruguayan economy.
We will know from the outside the seat of the Uruguayan legislature. An emblematic neoclassical building, listed National Historic Monument, built mostly with marbles and granites of national origin.
We will climb to the highest point in the city, the top of Montevideo Hill. From there we can take ownership of the best panoramic views of the entire city, being able to appreciate the bay and much of the Montevidean urban stain. We will visit the Fortress built on its summit and the General Artigas Military Museum, a historical museum that shows vestiges of the colonial era, prior to national independence.
We will tour the largest park in the city, the popular and distinguished Prado Park. There we will stop to visit its mythical Rosedal, as well as know some of its most prominent monuments such as ‘La Diligencia’ and ‘Las charrúas’.
Located on the second highest point in all of Montevideo, the National Shrine of the Sacred Heart of Jesus rises, emblematic Catholic temple, listed as a National Historic Monument. Large Byzantine style architectural landmark. It can be seen from different parts of the city, given its outstanding elevated location.
It is the second largest park in the city. There we will tour its wide green spaces, groves and know some highlights, including the monument 'La Carreta' and the great Centennial Stadium (Historical Monument of World Football), where the first World Cup final in history was held.
After a tour along the east rambla we will arrive at the famous 'Montevideo' sign, in the Kibón area, where we can enjoy an exceptional view of the coast and the urban profile that is outlined behind it.
As we come to the end of our tour, we will briefly tour Rodó Park walking along the rambla, being able to appreciate its wide green spaces, its quarries and some highlights such as the Summer Theater and its historic Amusement Park.
