Upon arrival in Yerevan, you will be warmly greeted at the airport and transferred to your hotel.
Continue to the nearby Geghard Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site carved partly into the surrounding cliffs. Dating back to the 4th century, this sacred site once housed the Holy Lance that pierced Christ’s side. The monastery’s incredible acoustics and a traditional choir performance will immerse you in a truly spiritual atmosphere.
Today’s journey takes you deep into Armenia’s spiritual and architectural heritage. Begin with a visit to the Temple of Garni, the only surviving pagan temple in the region, dedicated to the Sun God Mihr. Set high above the Azat Gorge, its elegant Greco-Roman columns and breathtaking views make it one of Armenia’s most iconic landmarks. Here, you can also enjoy the soft sounds of a Duduk performance, bringing ancient Armenian melodies to life.
Your final stop is the Kecharis Monastery in the resort town of Tsaghkadzor, surrounded by lush forests and mountain air. Founded in the 11th century, this peaceful complex was once an important religious and educational center. The tranquil beauty of Kecharis and its mountain backdrop offer a perfect ending to a day filled with history, culture, and inspiration.
Your final day in Armenia begins with a visit to one of the country’s most sacred landmarks — the Khor Virap Monastery, set against the majestic backdrop of Mount Ararat. Here, you’ll learn about the legend of Saint Gregory the Illuminator, who was imprisoned in the monastery’s underground pit before leading Armenia to become the world’s first Christian nation. The breathtaking view of Ararat from Khor Virap offers a perfect moment for reflection and photos.
Continue to the spiritual heart of the Armenian Apostolic Church — Etchmiadzin, home to the Mother Cathedral of Holy Etchmiadzin, the oldest Christian cathedral in the world. Within its complex, you’ll also visit the Treasury Museum, where sacred relics and precious artifacts are displayed, including the Holy Lance and ancient manuscripts — a true testament to Armenia’s deep Christian heritage. You’ll also see the beautifully preserved St. Hripsime and St. Gayane churches, both masterpieces of early Christian architecture.
Before returning to Yerevan, make a final stop at the Zvartnots Cathedral ruins, a 7th-century architectural wonder and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Though in ruins today, its circular design and the majestic backdrop of Mount Ararat still convey the grandeur of Armenia’s spiritual and artistic past. With this, your unforgettable journey through the land of faith, mountains, and timeless beauty comes to an end. You’ll be transferred to the airport for your departure, taking with you the warmth and spirit of Armenia.
