Baja Moana offers private sport fishing experiences aboard Sofía Moana, a 27-foot Ocean Runner center console, departing from Puerto Los Cabos Marina in San José del Cabo, Mexico.

Your private fishing trips are designed for families, friends and fishing enthusiasts who want a personalized experience on the Sea of Cortez. Trips are operated by an experienced local captain and can accommodate up to 6 guests.

We offer private 6-hour fishing trips, with the possibility of extending (8 hr.) the trip when requested. Depending on the season and current fishing conditions, guests may target species such as yellowfin tuna, marlin, dorado (mahi-mahi), wahoo, roosterfish and other local game fish.

The experience includes the private boat, captain, fuel, fishing equipment and beverages (Water and sodas). Your crew follows current fishing reports, local conditions and radio information to determine the best fishing areas for each trip.

Meeting point

Marina Cooperativa La Playita, Puerto Los Cabos, located behind Hotel El Ganzo in San José del Cabo. Once you arrive at the marina, head to the first dock, next to the palapa. Walk down the access ramp toward the docks and turn left. The boat, Sofía Moana, will be waiting for you there.

What to expect

Your private fishing experience begins at Marina Cooperativa La Playita in Puerto Los Cabos, where you will meet your captain and board Sofía Moana, Baja Moana’s 27-foot Ocean Runner.

After a brief safety introduction, we’ll depart into the Sea of Cortez and head toward the fishing grounds selected for the day. Your captain uses current fishing reports, local knowledge, weather conditions and radio information to determine the best areas and techniques.

Depending on the season and conditions, we may target yellowfin tuna, marlin, dorado (mahi-mahi), wahoo, roosterfish and other local game fish. Guests are welcome to participate regardless of experience level, and your crew will assist with fishing techniques and equipment throughout the trip.

This is a private experience exclusively for your group, allowing us to adapt the trip to your interests and the fishing conditions of the day.

At the end of the experience, we return to Puerto Los Cabos Marina. If you catch fish you would like to keep, local fish-cleaning services are available at the marina.
