Private Shore Excursion from Le Havre Honfleur and Étretat

Spend your day in port discovering two of Normandy's most beautiful places, with a private car and your own local driver based in Le Havre.

I meet you directly at the cruise terminal exit, with a sign showing your name. From there it is about thirty minutes along the coast to Étretat.

Étretat is known worldwide for its white chalk cliffs and the natural arches carved by the sea — the Porte d'Aval, the Manneporte, and the Aiguille, the needle of rock standing alone in the water. This is the setting of Maurice Leblanc's Arsène Lupin and "The Hollow Needle", recently brought back to a new audience by the Netflix series. You can climb the path to the clifftop chapel for the panoramic view, walk down to the pebble beach, or explore the village and its covered market hall.

We then drive to Honfleur, crossing the Normandy Bridge over the Seine estuary — worth having your camera ready.

In Honfleur you have free time in the old fishing port. The Vieux Bassin is lined with tall, narrow slate-fronted houses reflected in the water, the scene that drew Monet, Boudin and the Impressionists here in the 19th century. Walk the cobbled streets, see Sainte-Catherine church built entirely of wood by shipbuilders after the Hundred Years' War, browse the small galleries, or simply sit at a café by the harbour.
