An Intimate Cooking, Dining & Cultural Experience (8 courses)

6 hours (approximately)
Offered in: English

This is not a cooking class. It’s a dinner among friends who don’t know each other yet. A free discussion - while I share my ancient family receipes and we cook them together. It’s a way to get to know Transylvanian culture and to share yours.

Food equals care, this is my belief. So let us care for each other on a lazy afternoon, overlooking the city by the fireplace.

What to expect

Spend an afternoon in my home for an unhurried Transylvanian “estebéd”: three traditional dishes, their modern reinventions, and 600 years of family stories over pălincă, dessert and a view of Cluj

First, we’ll get to know each other over a glass of pălincă and enjoy the view. We’ll serve some light appetizers, so hunger doesn’t get the better of us before your meal is ready. :)

Then we’ll get cooking. I’ll guide you through the whole process as we go along, so that you don’t just chop and mix, but actually remember the recipes.

In the meantime, I’ll tell you the story of my family, Transylvania and the dishes we cook. They are not just recipes, they are part of a historical context and your local culture.

And this is the time to share your stories as well. I find it amazing to connect with people from around the world and discover how many things we actually have in common, despite the distances between us.

Once the meal is ready, we’ll retreat to the dining area overlooking the city and enjoy your common work: recipes I inherited, and others we creatively reinterpreted together.

Eight courses, the stories that go with them, and perhaps a new friendship to be happy about.
