What to expect

This outdoor winter activity begins at Whistlestop Kennel, where visitors meet and interact with energetic Alaskan sled dogs while learning about the traditions of dog mushing and competitive racing. After an introduction to the team, take a seat on the sled and head into the snowy wilderness for an exhilarating ride across frozen trails. Because this activity takes place outdoors in freezing arctic temperatures, participants should dress in heavy winter clothing, including insulated boots, thermal layers, gloves, and a warm hat. The experience includes hands-on time with the dog team and the guided sled run, while personal transportation to and from the kennel is not provided.
